Our Story

We’re Sophie and Jenna, former colleagues who quickly became close friends, united by a love for dogs. With a combined 6+ years of experience in the pet industry, we have extensive knowledge and hands-on experience when it comes to caring for dogs (of all kinds!).

We quickly became the go-to people for advice when friends & family brought home new puppies. Frankly, getting a new dog can be overwhelming and confusing. So, the questions continued to pour in from friends and that’s when we realized that we can make dog parenting easier. And so, The Dog House was born!

Now, we ensure that new dog parents know what to expect so they can feel confident and prepared to welcome home their new dog. From product must haves, basic obedience and scheduling tips, to vetted and personalized service recommendations, and so much more, The Dog House has got you covered!

  • Co-Founder

    When she’s not at her 9-5, Sophie can be found dog sitting or on dog walks all over NYC. From puppies to seniors, to medically complex dogs, Sophie connects with every pup she meets. She also has experience raising and training a service dog with the Guide Dog Foundation. Catch her with her service-dog-in-training, Marlee!

  • Co-Founder

    Jenna’s journey began in the midst of the pandemic, when she adopted a 6-week-old puppy, Sunny. What started as a simple love for dogs quickly grew into a lifelong passion. When she’s not caring for her own dog, Jenna volunteers with a local rescue and frequently looks after dogs for friends and neighbors. Jenna has been deemed "the dog person” amongst friends and family, and TDH is a natural extension of what she’s already been doing for many years!
